UBE Corporation (President: Masato Izumihara) announced today that the company has completed the transfer of all shares of API Corporation (APIC) wholly owned by Life Science Institute, Inc. (Representative Director: Ryosuke Tanabe), a Mitsubishi Chemical Group Company, as of December 1, 2022, as announced in the news release dated August 5, 2022, “UBE Acquires All Shares of API Corporation .”
Going forward, UBE and APIC will make maximum use of both companies’ resources in the areas of manufacturing, R&D, and quality control to establish a high-quality and stable supply system to provide customers with reliable products. Through these efforts, both companies will strive to strengthen their presence in the contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) market, which is steadily expanding.
To achieve sustainable growth in the future, UBE’s pharmaceutical business will create new value not only in its current areas of drug discovery research and CDMO focusing on small molecule drugs, but also in the broader areas of life science, healthcare, and medical science beyond therapeutic drugs, including nucleic acid drugs. In this way, UBE will continue to contribute to people’s lives and health, and an enriched future society.
